THanks for recommending this blog, Martin. I really enjoy his entry entitled, “Anonymity, Immeasurement & Irrelevance” and his reflections on Patrick Lincione. He’s a great speaker. If you have access to a seminary library, check-out the DVD’s from Willow Creek’s Leadership Summit. Partick has spoken twice (2003 and 2007). He’s a superb speaker on the topic of leadership and organization.

Angie,
I have the book on my pile of “To Read” books… I have started it several times, but find it a hard read (only in the 4th chapter). I am sure that there is good material to glean from it. However, I have to be in the mood for this kind of reading when it comes so hard.
It seeks to take a look at the views of a new generation about Christianity and why it matters.
Here are a couple of key quotes from the 3 chapters I have read.
“In studying thousands of outsiders’ impressions, it is clear that Christians are primarily perceived for what they stand against. We have become famous for what we oppose, rather than who we are for.”
“Outsiders told us that the underlying concern of Christians often seems more about being right than about listening.”
“Softening or reshaping the gosepl is an utterly wrong response to the objections people raise.”
“Few young outsiders see difference in Christian lifestyles.”
